Little Voices

"Good instincts usually tell you what to do long before your head has figured it out." Michael Burke...
I think it tells you long before your heart figures it out also...it talks softly though so listen up.

When changes are needed in our lives there is always that  "little voice" telling us where we need to be, things we need to do and why we need to be doing it. Of course, the problem most of us find is that we don't listen to that "little voice". We find or make excuses as to why we can't, or shouldn't do what it is that "little voice" is telling us we should be doing.

Why do we do this? Why do we put other peoples labels, opinions and reactions above our own wants, needs and desires? Why do we strive so hard for "Approval"? Is it the wanting of that approval that holds us back and keeps us from listening? I can say without a doubt, in my life this has always been the case. I'm not proud of that fact, but it is the fact of the matter nonetheless. I can also say without a shadow of a doubt that when I have been strong enough to forgo that need for approval and strike out on my own I have been the happiest and the most successful.

At this point in my life I am consciously working to develop within myself the strength that I know is there to do what I know in my heart needs to be done and to give myself the approval that I have previously looked for in others. When I trust my gut and listen to that "little voice" I know I am on the right path. There are no doubts that I chose correctly and there is no nagging voice questioning my choice. There is only peace and success.

I hope that more people are able to listen to their "little voice", be successful and find their own peace.

A quote to think on...

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand. - Woodrow Wilson
